I get asked this question all the time by my clients. My answer is always, “It depends”. I know this might be a non answer but the costs of building a house can be so varied and so different a stock answer would not do the person asking the question any good. So I have put together an infographic of the breakdown of the costs of building a new home. These numbers are just general guidelines and will vary based on location, finish out, and time frame. I hope you enjoy what I have put together and I hope it will answer your question of what it costs to build a new house.

This LEED platinum two story house plan has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Outside the elevation has a Hill Country modern feel with the stone facade with the stone and cedar columns. As well as the cedar mini trellises for added sun protection in the summer. Inside the house is very open for lots of light. The family room has beamed ceiling that is 11 feet high and is open to the nice kitchen. The master suite is vaulted to 18 feet. The master bath is nice with separate vanities, a large open walk in shower, and a large walk in closet. Upstairs there is a game room at the top of the stairs. The secondary bedrooms are nice and one has it;’s own private bath. There is also a Jack and Jill bath between the other bedrooms. All the bedrooms are large and have nice sized closets. The house plan also has a nice covered back patio for your summer enjoyment.

Description
This country influenced one story house plan has a nice front porch. The facade has a mixture of brick and stone with cedar columns on the front porch. Inside the barrel vaulted entry is large and is 11 feet high. There are stacked formals off the entry on the left side and the formal living can be used as an optional study as can the fourth bedroom which is off the entry on the right. The large kitchen is open to the family room and the breakfast nook and has a nice center island. The family room is very large and has a vaulted ceiling that is over 17 feet high. The master bedroom is located on the rear of the house plan for a nice view of the back yard. The master also has a nice bath and a large walk in closet with plenty of space for lots of clothes. The secondary bedrooms are all over sized and have large closets. There is a big covered back patio that is awesome for summer parties and get togethers.

European inspired, this 1.5 story house plan has a lot of character. Outside the 15 foot high stone bay window with the sloped roof line is dominate as is the stone covered front porch. Inside there are 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The kitchen is large and has a nice center island. There are three eyebrow arches that separate the kitchen from the family room. The family room has a 12 foot high ceiling and a stone fireplace with built ins on either side. There is a nice bay window in the family room with lots of windows for plenty of light. The mater suite is downstairs and has a ceiling pop up to 11 feet. There are large his and hers walk in closets and the master bath is nice with a large shower and jetted tub. Upstairs there is a game room, a fourth bedroom, and a full bath.

This 2 story house plan has 5 bedrooms and 3 and a half baths. Outside there is a large covered front porch with a cedar column. The entry has a nice turret with wrough iron for a custom feel. Inside the study is located of the entry on the right with the master bedroom off the entry on the left. The master suite is very large with a sitting area. The master bath has a very large walk in closet that is over 100 square feet. The family room has a nice corner fireplace and is open to the kitchen. The 3 car garage is over-sized for added storage. Upstairs the game room is at the top of the stairs and is large with enough room for a large pool table. All the secondary bedrooms upstairs are over-sized and all have nice walk in closets. Bedroom #2 even has access to a balcony over the front porch.

You also see the roof swoop for an added custom detail. Inside the dining room is large and located off the entry on the left. The kitchen is large with arches separating it from the family room. The kitchen also has a nice center island. The family room is very nice with a wood burning fireplace with built ins on either side of it and a 12 foot high ceiling. There is also a nice bay window with four large windows for a lot of light and a nice view of the backyard. The master suite is over sized and also has a nice bay window. The master also has his and hers walk in closets for plenty of storage. There are two additional bedrooms on the main floor and another bath. Upstairs there is a game room at the top of the stairs. There is also a fourth bedroom and a third bath upstairs as well.

The nice covered back patio has plenty of space for those summer cookouts. Upstairs the game room is at the top of the stairs. There is also 2 additional bedrooms and two additional baths upstairs.

There is a very large covered back patio for staying cool during those hot summer afternoons.

Upstairs there is a nice game room and one more bedroom and a full bath.
